Nils-Petter Ankarblom is a composer and arranger.
He has written songs and music for films, musicals, concerts as well as for specific artists. He has orchestrated the American musical "Nefertiti"
that has already recieved several productions in the USA. He has worked with many Swedish top artists such as CajsaStina Åkerström, Robert Wells ("Rhapsody in Rock"), Jenny Berggren (Ace of Base),
Elin Sigvardsson,
Maja Gullstrand, Babben Larsson, Sanna Nielsen, Nils Landgren and others. He has also written
original music for Symfoniorkestern vid Norrlandsoperan and Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra. The latter elected him as the winner of the "Composers of Tomorrow" composition contest 2004 for his work "Fireflies" for soprano and orchestra. Three editions of Nils-Petter's works for choir is published by Gehrmans Musikförlag.
Between 2000 and 2004 he studied arranging/composition/teaching at the Music Academy of Malmö for Sten Ingelf, Rolf Martinsson och Björn-Tryggve Johansson. In combination with his freelance work he is also teaching at University of Växjö's program for Music Production in Oskarshamn. In the summers he enjoys being the musical director of Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts Sweden, an organization that gathers teenagers from USA and Sweden to create an original piece of musical theatre from scratch and perform it in three weeks!
As a musician Nils-Petter performs as a pianist with CajsaStina Åkerström on a regular basis. When handed a doublebass or a reed organ he likes to play some Swedish folkmusic, especially outdoors in the summers.
